Susana Gato

Bio:

Susana Gato is a lawyer specializing in the protection of artistic content and the negotiation of rights for independent audiovisual producers. She has extensive experience working with public and private stakeholders in the audiovisual sector and has been actively involved in legislative and regulatory processes related to audiovisual policy.

In 2000, she became General Secretary of APIT – the Association of Independent Television Producers, and in 2018 she was appointed its Executive President. Since 2009, she has also chaired the Board of GEDIPE, representing independent producers in the field of collective rights management. She served on the Board of CEPI (European Audiovisual Production Association) from 2019 and was elected President in 2021, being re-elected in 2023 and serving until the end of 2025. As Executive President of APIT, she continues to advocate for the interests of independent producers at both national and European level.
