Georg Szalai has been working fot The Hollywood Reporter since 2001, first as a business reporter in New York before being named business editor in 2003 and then New York bureau chief in 2005. He has been based in London since 2012, working with THR's global team as global business editor.
Georg has covered such Hollywood business news as conglomerates’ move into streaming and deals, including Disney's acquisition of large parts of Fox, the Paramount deal for Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix’s bid for it. He has also covered the rise of ad models and niche players in streaming and the broader evolution of the streaming space. Despite being THR’s resident Austrian, he has never met Arnold Schwarzenegger.
