Bio:
Nick heads up Media & Partnerships for Sharp Consumer Electronics managing the commercial relationships with TV OS partners for Europe. He is responsible for monetization across Sharp new and legacy devices including FAST, display and data etc. He also develops partnerships with streamers and content partners on a pan-European level and in key local markets.
Nick has a proven track record of securing and managing strategic partnerships and distribution agreements with leading media and technology companies, such as DAZN, FIFA, Vodafone, Pluto, Google, Sky, Virgin Media, Amazon, Apple, and Samsung. He specialises in market expansion, having represented major Hollywood Studios in emerging markets, and with soccer, bringing EPL & La Liga club channels to South Africa.
Nick founded a triple-play platform in the UK called Freewire, which provided broadband, phone and IPTV services to students living in university halls of residence. He grew this business to a footprint of over 160,000 rooms before selling the company to Inuk Networks (in turn acquired by Move Networks, and then EchoStar/DISH). This brought Nick into the telco and platform TV space, helping to develop video technology and content strategies for international operators including Virgin Media, Cable & Wireless, Al Jazeera, Digiturk, du, Ooredoo, MTN, Telefonica, Turkcell and Vodafone.
Nick has served as a non-executive director at On Demand Deutschland Gmbh. and Discover Digital SA.
